Why do I now see DAPublish Buttons? In Blue.
DASubscribe has been specifically designed for colleges and universities. In February 2007 we extended DASubscribe functionality to include uploading your games. Some suggestions include:

  • You might want to use us to store your full game videos so that recruiters from the NFL, CFL, Arena League, and Europe can view your games and highlights. There is a 1.5 Gig per file limit.
  • You can use this free service to showcase your top players.
  • Since this new upload feature is free to paying DASubscibers, you might consider using it for your training videos by making video available online for your players and coaches. Only your staff and professional recruiters have access to this video.

For questions and concerns please call (408) 617-0420 or our toll-free number (800) WE-LEVEL.

Who can sign up and how much does it cost? How do I sign up?
DASubscribe is available now! Private and public four year universities, colleges, and junior colleges can sign up for our service. The cost varies depending upon the recruiting levels and needs of the college program. If you?d like to sign up for DASubscribe, or to learn more about pricing, call us at (408) 617-0420 x102 or toll free at (877) WE-LEVEL.

What are the minimum requirements?
A reasonably fast internet connection (T1 is recommended), enough space on your hard drive to store the downloaded video files (an average of 500 MB each), and a way to view video files, such as Windows Media Player or QuickTime Player. Here is a typical PC that works with our system:

Windows XP Professional Edition
Windows Movie Maker (Comes installed on Windows XP systems)
512 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher
32 megabytes (MB) of VRAM or higher
2.0 GB of available hard-disk space (most computer come with at least 40 GB drives these days).
DirectX 7.1 or later graphics support (ask the dealer what the graphic card can support)
Windows Media Player or equivalent (Windows Media Player comes with Windows XP)

What browsers are supported?
Internet Explorer 6.0 and higher, Firefox, and Safari.

What type of game videos are available on your system?
High school and junior college football game and player highlight videos from around the country. International football game videos will be available later this year!

Can more than one coach at a time watch video, or do I have to wait until someone is done with it?
Once you download the video, it is yours to do with what you will - you can copy, share, or edit it. Burn the video to CD, DVD, copy it to a flash drive, a shared server or an external hard drive?it?s up to you.

How can I keep track of certain athletes that I'm watching?
Coming soon, DASubscribe accounts will offer Hot List features that allow you to flag athletes or schools of interest. When those schools or athletes Publish new videos, you can have our system automatically notify you or download it to your hard drive.

Are you offering online game exchange?
Yes, we will offer online game exchange to conferences in the Fall. If you?re interested in signing up your conference, call us at (408) 617-0420 or (877) WE-LEVEL. You can also send us an email to support@athletishare.com

How do I know that my information is secure?
We protect your vital account data. Access to your account is password protected. See our password guidelines for how to make your password stronger to enhance security. Without access through your password, no one but you and those you authorize can view rosters, view your contact information or your digitally recorded games.

We also protect your video files. Each digital game file that is in our secure repository is automatically scanned for viruses. If a file has been infected, we remove that file from circulation. Also, each file is ?finger printed?. That means we can detect if one of your digital game files has been tampered with or corrupted in some way. If that should happen, we will let you know and take action to recover that file.

How do I access a high school or junior college team?s roster? What kind of information is available?
A school roster is available merely by clicking on the School Name link in your Search Results. Each roster contains the team player list for that season. You can click on a Player Name to see details for that particular player. The amount of information for each player will depend on what the high school coach has entered. The required fields for each player are name, jersey number, position/s played, height, weight, and class year. Optional fields include player contact info, GPA, SAT, ACT, 40 yard dash speed, squat, bench press, short shuttle speed, vertical leap, and top three colleges desired. Junior College fields also include transfer date, years of remaining eligibility, etc. We are in the process of adding even more information on the request of colleges.

Can I request that a high school or junior college that I'm watching send their videos to AthletiShare instead of mailing them to me?
Absolutely! We encourage you to ask high schools to upload their videos using our free DAPublish tool rather than mailing you tapes. Uploading videos is free for high school and junior college coaches?so it?s really more time and cost efficient for everyone.

How do I change my contact information or password?
Once logged into your account, click on the My Account tab and you will see an ?Edit? link for contact information, and a ?change password? button.

How do I add another contact to my account?
Once logged into your account, click on the My Account tab and you will see a button to edit contacts. Clicking that will allow you to add contacts.

How long does a full game video take to download?
This is a complicated answer. Many factors go in to downloads in general, not just from our system. Two main factors to take into account are connection speed, and how many people share that connection. Below is a table showing fastest times for the different connection speeds downloading a video of 500 Mb.

Connection Top Download Speed Time
56k Modem 7 KB/sec 18 hours
DSL (1.5 Mbps) 192 KB/sec 40 minutes
DSL (3.0 Mbps) 384 KB/sec 20 minutes
DSL (6.0 Mbps) 768 KB/sec 10 minutes
T1 (10 Mbps) 1280 KB/sec 6 minutes
T3 (40-100 Mbps) 5120 KB/sec @ 40 Mbps 1 minute and 30 seconds

*Speeds based on top download speeds
**Speeds also based assuming no other users are using the same connection

Sharing the connection does decrease download times. General browsing, email, and online chat shouldn't affect the download dramatically. Having another user download large files, or use web intensive applications will affect your download speed and time. Having multiple downloads going simultaneously will affect the speed of each download.

Will I be able to control the video (pause, fast forward, rewind) the same way I can now?
Because downloaded files can be in various video formats (we preserve the same format that the video was uploaded in) we cannot guarantee compatibility with video viewers and editors that provide slow rewind viewing (Windows Media Viewer, Quicktime Player, and Real Player allow rewinding, pausing and fast forwarding but do not provide slow rewind).
However, if you are using a video editing system such as XOS Recruiter, you can usually import the downloaded video file for viewing or editing as you would any other video file.

What criteria can I use to search game videos?
You can search by a player's first or last name, school name, geographical region, conference, height, weight, position, jersey number, GPA, bench press, vertical leap and many other criteria.

Can I search and download highlight videos?
Yes, if a highlight video exists for a player. Both regular game videos and highlight videos are displayed and available for downloading in Player Search results.

How can I watch the game videos on the road? Can I watch them at home?
Because our system is web-based, you can use your computer to access your account, download games, and view them from anywhere. If you have already purchased and downloaded a video from the office, and want to watch it at home, simply access your Download History, find the video name and click Download. You can begin viewing it once the download has begun. Once a video has been purchased and downloaded, you will not be charged if you wish to download or view it in the future.

What if I want to make copies of the video?
Once you have downloaded a video to your computer, you can copy it to a CD, DVD, a shared server or an external drive. And if you don?t want to store it, or accidentally delete it, you can find the video in your Download History and download it again at no cost.

Can I expect the videos to be of good quality?
Like existing VHS or digital game video, the quality is dependent on the skills of the digital photographer who filmed it. In terms of the quality of digital video ? you will find that it?s comparable to film, and much easier to edit. If you see a pattern of poor quality with a particular school, please let us know so we can report back to them. You can send us an email to support@athletishare,com to alert us of a reoccurring quality issue.

What if a video I download is of really poor quality?
If you are truly unsatisfied with the quality of a video you have purchased and downloaded, please let us know. Call or email us with the video information and your feedback. We will evaluate the video and pull it from our system if it is unusable and reimburse you. Later this year DASubscribe will offer a ?preview? feature that will allow you to view a portion of each video before you purchase and download it.

How do I find videos I have previously downloaded?
As of now, you will need to contact a player through the high school coach. We are in the process of adding additional contact information for players. You can access coach information by clicking on the school name from a Search Results page.
